I’m sure by now you’ve realised Insta growth isn’t just about posting pretty pictures and hoping for the best. You’ve got to have a clear strategy and you’ve got to treat your Instagram account for what it is, a business.
With over 1 billion monthly active users on the platform now, Instagram is a very powerful tool for your business… If you know how to use it right.
It’s time to seriously up your Insta game. Starting by introducing these 5 must have tools to improve your business Instagram.
If you’ve been struggling with the algorithm and wondering why IG seems to be working for everyone else but you, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s dig in.
1 – Snapseed
Let’s face it… Instagram is a visual platform and if your account isn’t visually up to scratch it’s unlikely people are going to stick around for long.
One of the best ways to ensure your account has a pleasing aesthetic to it, is to ensure all the images you post have the same kind of look and feel. That means you need to do a little editing.
And that’s where Snapseed comes in.
This is my go to app for all my on the go editing needs.
Simply open your photo, select what you want to do from all the tools available, and once you’re happy with your edits export the image and upload straight to Instagram. Voila!
2 – Wordswag
Ever wondered how people make all their fancy quote images? There’s a number of different apps that allow you to create beautiful designs, but Wordswag is definitely one of my faves.
You can upload your own image and add text or you can choose from a number of available stock images or simple backgrounds. They have built-in quotes you can use or you can type your own text. And then you choose your font and colours and can also do a little editing (tip – I would edit your image in Snapseed first to ensure it has the same feel as the rest of your images then add your text)
And of all the apps Wordswag definitely has the best font colour palette. I mean who doesn’t love a bit of gold foil? Plus you can save your logo in the app and add that to your images before downloading. Such a handy little app for creating beautiful branded content.
3 – Linktree
Ever wished there was a way to add more links to your Instagram bio? If so, you’re in luck because there totally is and it’s such a cool tool.
Enter Linktree – this tool allows you to create a profile with multiple links and then you simply put your linktree link in your Instagram bio and people can click on that and will be taken to all your link options.
So if you want to lead people to your blog but also your social media and maybe a product or service you offer, then you can add all those things.
Lots of people swear by Linktree and I do see why it’s super handy, however personally I’ve stopped using it. My goal with my Instagram account is to grow my email list and I found by having too many link options it stopped people from following through.
So if you are going to use Linktree just make sure you’re clear on your goal. For instance, if you have a blog and you want to share the most important posts that could be relevant to different niches then that works well as the overall goal is still directing everyone to your blog.
4 – HashTagged
Hashtags are such an important tool for account growth, but you can’t just use any random hashtags and expect to grow. There needs to be a plan and strategy behind your tags and sometimes it can be tricky to come up with the right kind of hashtags.
Well that’s where HashTagged comes in.
Choose from the categories and find the best tags that are relevant to what your post is about. Copy the tags and share them on Instagram. You can also save your favourite tags to come back and reuse again and again.
5 – Plann
One of the biggest mistakes people make when using Instagram for business, is still treating their accounts like a personal account. Posting random content on the fly with no rhyme or reason.
If you’re serious about your business, which I’m sure you are, you need to start thinking strategically about the content you’re sharing.
And one of the best ways to do that is to plan ahead, and Plann is one of the best apps to do this.
It not only allows you to drag and drop images and move them around to see how your feed will look before the images get posted. It also helps you with your storytelling strategy by offering different theme prompts for you to post about.
And it has great insights and analytics so you can see how your content is performing. Things like what times work best for your audience, which hashtags are working best, how your account is growing, what your colour palette is, and it even lets you see how you compare to other similar accounts in your niche.
And there you have it… 5 must have tools to improve your business Instagram.
