It’s a very splendid thing to understand the Three C’s of Life.
Have you ever heard of the Three C’s of Life?
“Choices, Chances, Changes. You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change.”
I’m not sure who this quote is from but I came across it recently and it really resonated with me so I decided to research the topic a little more.
And that brings me to this video. I’ve become one of those people that watches TED talks quite regularly and I came across this one which links to the Three C’s of Life.
I love Owen’s delivery of his life story and how he always went for the uncertain and exciting option. What did you think?
From now on I know I will always be picking door 2 as well. This shift in thinking started a few months ago and I probably got off to a bit of a slow start because there was still a bit of fear and uncertainty but I now know the time is right.
This year is the beginning of door 2 for me and I know once I open that door there will be no turning back. I’m tired of just being average. I’m ready for change.
I’m looking forward to a life of freedom and adventure. Sure it might be scary at times. Sure the path less travelled is full of uncertainty and I could make mistakes along the way. But I’d much rather look back and know I did everything I could to achieve the life of my dreams.
What will your choice be?
Now before you rush to make your decision I’d like you to quickly imagine the following:
I’d like you to close your eyes and picture being at your current workplace (if you’re not already there)
Are you sitting at a desk, in a small cubicle, overwhelmed by clutter? Files and paperwork everywhere? Maybe your office is paperless so the files and paperwork are drowning your desktop?
Is your manager putting pressure on you to do more and more? Close a major account? Reach some high scale target?
Maybe you’ve already closed some major deal and your boss is taking credit for it?
Do you spend your days clock-watching? Waiting and waiting for your morning tea? Waiting for your lunch break where you get a bit more time out? (If you even take these breaks). Waiting for the day to end?
Are you missing an important moment in your child’s life because you’re stuck in the office?
Are you missing that catch up with your friends because they all have the day off and you couldn’t get it approved?
This may not be your exact situation but if any of this sounds even remotely familiar, I want you to ask yourself…
Is this where you really want to be?
Do you really want to be answering to someone else? Stuck in the 9-5 grind?
Now think about your choices again. Think about the three c’s of life.
Are you going to play it safe and average and go with door 1, or are you going to take chances and go with door 2?
