Let’s talk about making money, moreover let’s talk about some tips for making money online.
I’ve just returned home from a mind blowing weekend in Rotorua (which I’ll tell you all about very soon) and I want to share with you some of the things I learnt while I was there. Especially some tips for making money online.
I’ve touched a little on what I’m doing to build my online business, but after my weekend I want to share a lot more.
Firstly I’d like to share the three M’s – these are my three principles to building a successful online business. Three tips for making money online that are complete non-negotiables if you want to get ahead. If you want to start anywhere I suggest you start with these three things.
ONE – MOTIVATION/MINDSET
Whatever you do in life you need to have the motivation and drive to obtain it. You could have the right system and right people telling you what to do but if you don’t have the drive to go get it you’ll fail every time. You need to visualize your goal, act like you already have it, this will make you want it so much more! Once you imagine yourself in this position you’ll start believing in yourself, you won’t be able to stop seeing yourself in this better place, and this will give you the motivation you need to really go for it. Don’t forget, not everything comes easy and sometimes things may go wrong. It’s how you handle the tougher times that will set you apart from the not so serious people and see you achieve your goals. If you need any help getting into the right mindset just give me a shout and I’d love to help.
A few things that help me to get in the right mindset are:
- Listening to motivational podcasts – other people’s success stories really inspire me, along with the digital system I use I get access to a whole range of podcasts, past group phone calls and live footage from events. I no longer spend my down time listening to mindless information, instead I listen to these success stories and motivational speeches and every day this puts me in a positive mood where I feel like I can achieve anything.
- Reading – I can’t stress how important this is. If you don’t like reading you can probably find versions of most books online that you can listen to instead. Whatever you do, always read books that are valuable, ones that will teach and inspire you.
- Surrounding myself with people that are better than me – watching other people’s success, hearing their stories, seeing them achieve amazing results really inspires me to challenge myself to do better. I’m competitive so I want to catch up to them, not to do better than them but to show myself that I can do what others are doing.
- Write your goals down or create a vision board – whatever format you put them in make sure you review them every day. This way it’s constantly on your mind and you will always be striving towards it. One thing you definitely shouldn’t do is fixate on roadblocks or lack of progress, if your mind is constantly focusing on negative thoughts like this you’ll continue to stay in that block. Whereas if you celebrate the small wins (getting a few extra leads a day, making your first sale, getting more traffic etc.) you’ll be more likely to get ahead quicker. For example, before I went to Rotorua I was feeling pretty confused about everything and I was getting down because I’d missed a few days in my 90 day plan and thought I wasn’t going to make it. One of the mentors in Rotorua stopped me and said why not make this your day 0? From that point my mindset completely changed. So what everything wasn’t going exactly according to plan? I was still making progress and getting a lot done. By resetting my goals and staying in a positive mindset I’ve managed to achieve so much in the past few days and I’m so much more amped to move forward now.
TWO – MENTOR
The Internet is a confusing place and it’s very easy to feel lost and overwhelmed when you’re first starting out. This is where a mentor is extremely important. When I first started affiliate marketing I had no clue what I was doing. I always thought the online world was reserved for the real smart people, the ones with qualifications and degrees in IT. I almost gave up a few times because I thought I was in way over my head and would never be able to decipher the codes. Turns out there’s not too much in it at all and anyone really can do it, you just need a mentor to guide you through the process, (and you can leave website coding to the IT pros).
Within our system you get a direct mentor, but then you also get a whole team of mentors that work alongside you. These mentors have been previously trained by other mentors within the group so there are so many levels of experience amongst the team and so much support available. I’ve never experienced a support network as strong as this one anywhere else. We get to join Facebook groups where we get access to so many people with all levels of experience and we all get to learn from each other. Those success stories I was talking about, are being told on a daily basis in these groups, so having this support network also does a lot for your motivation and mindset.
THREE – MOTOR (your vehicle/system)
This is the clincher. You could be super driven and have a wonderful mentor but, if you don’t have the vehicle (or motor in this case so I can stick with the M words) to deliver your vision to your audience, it’s going to be very difficult to succeed. You’re going to need a hub to track sales, see visitors, keep in contact with your customers, schedule meetings and of course get paid.
I use an incredible digital system, which through blogging and social media sites has helped me to reach my desired audiences. Without a motor to get you from place to place it can get very difficult. The system I use stores everything I need in the one place. It provides me the information I need, the tools I need, it keeps stats for me, pays me, tracks my progress etc etc. This is all the stuff those clever code people get paid to make and we get it all in one place without having to write one code. Pretty neat right?
Part of the system also requires you to have the right machines – obviously if you’re going to be working online you need to have a computer, smart phone or iPad and some good internet. If you’re going to be travelling you need to be savvy about how much you pay for data or whether you risk it and rely on wifi. In my next posts I’ll delve into some tips for accessing internet on the go.
If you want to learn more about the system I’m using and apply them to building your own online business you can get started here.
So there you have it. With the motivation, a mentor, and the right motor to deliver it all, you won’t be very far from achieving the same success so many others already are and many more continue to join us. It’s impossible to fail as long as you have all three items in place. But my biggest tips for making money online is simple, YOU NEED ALL THREE, if one is missing success will be very hard to achieve.
